On February 28, 2025, the National Steering Committee for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Peace Support Facility convened at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Federal Ministers, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Regional Presidents, and Ambassadors from Germany and Japan to Ethiopia, alongside High Representatives from the Netherlands and other partners.

The primary objectives of the gathering were to review the progress of the Peace Support Program, assess ongoing initiatives, and approve a $9.35 million USD budget for the 2025 annual work plan.

On behalf of the people of Tigray, we extend our sincere gratitude to UNDP for its steadfast support in our recovery efforts. We also appreciate the contributions of the German government (GFFO), the Japanese government (JSB), the Government of the Netherlands, and other international partners whose assistance has been invaluable during this challenging period.

Despite the progress made, the allocated budget remains insufficient to fully address the extensive damage and losses suffered. The demand for recovery and reconstruction is immense, highlighting the urgent need for increased financial support. As we move forward, continued advocacy for resource mobilization will be essential to meeting these critical needs.
